ScamTrack App now detects if accounts joining your server are likely impersonation accounts. If you've already used the /setchannel command to a channel that the bot has been given permission to, then you are already actively protected.
There are a few more security features being added in the near future! If you have suggestions, please join the discord and create a suggestion in the appropriate forum, it's greatly appreciated.
ScamTrack App now supports adding cases of scam attempts (clear, malicious attempts - not misunderstandings or disputes), as well as impersonation accounts (that may not have involved a successful scam).
Discord messages (alerts or results from /lookup) have been updated accordingly. Messages still prioritize the most significant/severe "type" of cases against that user(s).
The /Lookup Command is a way to check if the user you are trading with has any scams or disputes made against them. This will not display information related to the user (IE: Other game or online accounts), but if there is some important reason (IE: Police case, legal issue, etc) that information can be requested, just open a ticket!
Other New Features
"Disputes" have been added as a case type. Not every situation is a scam! Maybe there was just a misunderstanding that got resolved. These (and similar situations) are now considered disputes. This comes with its own special messaging that is less severe than if someone has scammed, and tells you how many open/ongoing/unresolved disputes there are against that user.
ScamTrack App now offers support for creating your own ticket section for your members to report scams in real time.
- Do you have a community that offers trading or cooperative gameplay with splitting loot?
- Does your community have anything that might require trust between members at some point?
- Does your discord involve selling, buying, or mediating sales of items (whether virtual or physical)?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then this would be a great new feature for you!
ScamTrack App Tickets
- Ability to designate a ticket channel & category
- Ticket channel with custom text + a button to open a ticket
- Ticket created in appropriate category, limited to one per user to avoid spam/abuse
- Ticket is handled remotely by ScamTrack App Staff. All text and images are mirrored.
- A transcript is saved upon completion, and all reports will be added to the ScamTrack database.
Other New Features
- Anytime a new case is added to ScamTrack, it will automatically check ALL servers it is in, and if a match is found, an alert will be sent. That means if someone is already in your server and scams, you'll know!
- There is now a command (/setchannel) for you to set which channel you want alerts to go to!
As of today the bot, with it's baseline functionality, will be made available to anyone who would like to include it in their community. If you have the ability to add a bot on your discord server, you are welcome to do so.
